BIANCO D'ISTRIA - why is Venice so gleaming under the moonlight

BIANCO D'ISTRIA

Why does Venice turn WHITE during a summer thunderstorm?

Venice is always gifted by enchanting light, whether in bright sun, dense fog, rain shower, or full moon.

The secret being that most of the watersides, bridges, and window frames are built up with Istrian white stone (Pietra d’Istria). Under certain light conditions the stone shines, creating memorable light effects in combination with the water of the canals.

They are the light effects that inspired us in creating our first lamp, Eccentrica!
